About "Boules to You"
I spent the latter part of the 70's and most of the 80's in England. In between studying for a medical degree at Cambridge Univeristy and working, I travelled widely. I made many trips to France and fell in love with the elegantly simple yet infinitely challenging game of petanque.
I returned to New Zealand in 1989 determined to import the game into N.Z. Boules To You was formed in 1992 to do just that.
A small group of lovers of the game and myself formed the N.Z. Petanque Association in 1993 and over the intervening years I was honoured to be elected to the Federation International de Petanque et Jeu Provencal executive committee and wear the silver fern, at a World Championship, representing N.Z. It is the many friendships I have made with folk in the global petanque family, however, that I treasure most. Finally, I am regularly delighted by the joy and enthusiasm of players new to the game. Try it for yourself - you may well be "bouled over".
