News, tips and information Archive

17/05 Immediately after the National Triples I created 15 web pages for the promotion of our team to the World Championships. I received an email today stating that these pages may now not be used after all - because of some comments I have made on this Wiki. I have absolutely no problem with this at all. In a way this is good news - I have enough on my plate as it is.

What is interesting (for those that are interested) is to see how versatile our Wiki can be (I was quite surprised myself). As you can see I simply created a self-contained sub site or section within our Wiki. By inserting a smal amount of code, I was also able to completely remove the right-hand Sidebar from all the pages within this sub site, thereby creating more room for the project - exiting and fascinating stuff, I love it. -Tom.

17/05 During the last three to four months I have been getting the distinct feeling that people within our game are regrouping. New alliances are formed, some brought into the fold and some are dumped. I suppose this is the inherent nature of any group, it behaves like an organism - it is continually changing and evolving. This also makes it difficult to predict which way and in what direction the group is moving. I read in today's Dominion that high ranking Australian politicians will not meet with the Dalai Lama during his visit to Australia this year. This is a good example of regrouping in order to gain favours. -Tom.

17/05/ Letter from Liz Rocks: To the Team. Whatever you think of this, one thing is for sure, Liz is upfront and puts her name under whatever she writes. This takes courage and conviction. It was Liz Rocks who, on 20/10/06 finally after four months of silence from PNZ explained some of the questions people had. Communications from PNZ have not at all improved under the new 2007 regime. -Tom.

11/05/ The problem with speaking out is that the one speaking out always becomes the guilty party. This is why Andy Gilbert wrote THIS: "....I was one of the more vocal and outspoken commentators in the past (remember the E-newsletter?) and suffered the consequences on a personal level....". Luckily it has caused Andy no long-term damage, he is now on the PNZ executive as the Umpiring Director. -Tom.

08/05 World Champs. I have the feeling that things are not going to go well for our team. I am a firm believer in the Buddhist principle of the "Law of Karma": All living creatures are responsible for their karma — their actions and the effects of their actions.

Initially there was a lot of support, but now there is very little left. People have the feeling that something very unsporting has happened. This combined with the usual silence from PNZ makes for bad times ahead. -Tom

01/05 The following message appeared on the PNZ website last night: "Murray Porter has formally advised the PNZ Executive that there will be no 4th player for the World Championships team. Bryan Wells"

Some gentle persuasion from PNZ perhaps? -Tom.

29/04 I am delighted to be able to report that Cam Calder (life member PNZ) from Boules to You has agreed to further sponsor this New Zealand Petanque Wiki for the period 2007/ 2008. This means that the use of this Wiki remains free and open to all New Zealand Petanque individuals, clubs and bodies. -Tom.

27/04 It is impossible for me to understand that after ALL the difficulties we've had with selection of players for the World Championships during 2006, we mindlessly stumble into the same quagmire again this year. As a famous person said: "Stupidity has no bounds". -Tom.

21/04 Good luck to the team for the World Championships, and may the fourth be with you! -Seb.

21/04 World Championship 4th player? It would be nice to know if there is a fourth player. If there is a fourth player, who can we congratulate ? This is what it says on the PNZ website: "....The Team must confirm the fourth player to PNZ by no later than Monday 2 April, 2007". It is now the 30th of April !!.

If PNZ is entitled to bend the rules, they should at least have the decency to inform us about the delays regarding the fourth player. To get people on board we must keep them informed - it is a way of respecting and valuing our membership.

Delays like this has in the past meant that some backroom dealing was going on. From what I am hearing, things are not well. Lets hope we are not going to spoil a beautiful victory this time around. -Tom.

17/04 This text is taken from this WPA web page:

"Letter from Liz Rocks applying to affiliate a new club named Pacific Paradise. Myles Cowper suggested this would be another breakaway club and asked how it would benefit WPA. Liz explained that the club will consist of a group of women from around the district who have never played the game before. There will be no immediate benefit to WPA apart from payment of fees and this is merely a group of people being introduced to the game. Gerald Bryan commented that no sport, including WPA, can afford to be exclusive."

First of all Gerald's comment is a given. Secondly why can't this "group of women from around the district who have never played the game before" be part of an already existing small club. Khandallah springs to mind here. Myles's opinion is a good one. Like Myles, I too find the setting up of little splinter groups, just compounds the problem of too many ultra small clubs in the Wellington region. There ought to be a minimum number of members before a club earns the right to be affiliated to WPA (I suggest 10 or 15). Requiring a minimum number may be an incentive for clubs to grow their membership, or amalgamate with another club. The situation in Wellington is becoming quite absurd. Update 21/04: I now hear that another Khandallah member has applied to set up a new club. What is going on here. In the meantime, the Park Avenue club is teetering on the brink of collapse. Maybe we should all set up a club - I always wanted to be a club secretary. I just hope this is not an exercise in setting up voting blocks (little splinter clubs consisting of 3 of 4 members with voting rights on the WPA). Update 07/05 I have just discovered that the new club "Pacific Paradise" has been removed from the WPA website club page. Mysteries, I love them. -Tom.

12/04 The Rotorua club has put up two photos, one of a very wet terrain, and one of it the following day completely dry. You can see the photos on this PAGE.

"Drainage cannot be provided by installing soak holes as the crust underneath once broken could lead to a geyser coming up from the thermal field below."

This is interesting and it makes me think of Herne Bay - have they with their recent drainage work exposed an old and forgotten volcano? (Auckland is littered with them). Jacques Cochonnet has already alerted us in this LETTER, to the many physical dangers we expose ourselves to in New Zealand whilst playing our beloved game. Thankfully he also provided some good solutions for minimising danger and serious injury. Here is just one of them: " ....kneepads and flashing hazard lights would be essential." -Tom.

11/04 This text has appeared (in bold) overnight on the PNZ website:

"The PNZ Executive advises any player/person or club considering making a donation to make it direct to Petanque New Zealand either by cheque or direct deposit."

The above quoted text does not appear on the original document of 05/04/07 by Joanne Lippard. This new text may have appeared as a result of the NZPC PayPal electronic donation service. It almost sounds like a consumer warning (not a cooperative approach). Please remember that this is just one initiative of the many fundraising initiatives. Our NZPC initiative simply gives another option - a very convenient one at that. PNZ needs to learn how to share. PNZ needs to support and encourage others in their endeavours to help. I recommend the book "The Evolution of Co-operation" by R. Axelrod (read about this fascinating book on this wikipedia page). -Tom.

10/04 We have a new video on our Video page. This would have to be the perfect end, when 12 out of 12 boules are played correctly !!. -Tom.

07/04 Last night the results of 2007 Peugeot National Championships went up on the PNZ website. Unfortunately no photos. The PNZ acknowledgement and official recognition of the winners also went up on the website at the same time.

I expect the donations for our team this year to be higher compared to previous years. The fact that our team has earned its place to represent New Zealand as opposed to the shenanigans that took place last year, makes me think our representatives will have better support this time. -Tom.

05/04 Well Done then joanne ??

Congrats !!! -Georgio.

05/04 A ha, Finally I have done it!

This is a message for Georgio and the delicious David, who can no longer mock my technically challenged endeavour to post a comment on this wiki

Done it

guess who!

05/04 It is surprising that the PNZ website has no news about the PNZ Peugeot National Triples. The WPA website has. The NZPC Blog has - including a newspaper article. This Wiki page has - including two photos. For the PNZ website to be so late is not a good look when it comes to the sponsor Peugeot and the general membership. There could of course be technical difficulties. Lets hope we see something soon. We want to see a nice photo of the winners - we've already seen the complete results. We had a similar situation of PNZ providing final results very late (twenty-four days) after the Trans-Tasman event of 2006 (see comment 5 on this PAGE. It is also ironic that PNZ is now happy to publish recognition of the winners of the 2007 national triples on our Blog and Wiki. All of this makes a mockery out of Bryan Wells's Allegations around our NZPC Blog. -Tom.

04/04 Have placed the anonymous reply (to a post on our NZPC Blog) from what looks like a PNZ executive member, on its own permanent PAGE. The actions of one, has cast a cloud of suspicion over the entire executive. -Tom.

02/04 I Would Like To Say, Well Done To Papy, Ron, And Murray For Their Hard Work During The Weekend, They Played Well And They Got Their Reward At Rotorua, During Last Weekend. I Wish Them Well At The World Champ Coming Up In September In Thailand this year. Well, Good Luck Boys, and we Are all The Way with You. -Georgio.

29/03 I have allowed a posting without it being signed by the author. The problem with this is that people take this as a sign that they can do likewise in their replies. I allow this also, as in this case the two unsigned comments are not of an "unacceptable" nature. It is interesting that one of the unsigned comments has this line in it:

"....I wish it could be all paid for, I wish we had sponsors begging to give us money, I wish we could send a team that was not based on who can afford it. But the sad fact is we do!"

The style of writing (claiming ownership) clearly indicates that this person has a position on the "extended PNZ Executive". PNZ is big on being upfront, signing off and doing things the Kiwi way, etc. So much for maintaining the moral high-ground. -Tom.

23/03 Have finally completed the information surrounding the PNZ database. -Tom

21/03 It is a bit disappointing that someone made a comment on our NZPC Blog (20/03) with a reference to another person by name, but the author did not sign off. If you consider that I have just written a piece on this PAGE defending the contributors of our Blog: "I am however disappointed that Bryan Wells insinuates that postings on the NZPC Blog are from petanque players who want to remain anonymous". If you also consider that to-date not one single person has backed me up on my defence of our Blog and its contributors, you can probably understand my disappointment.

"NZPC BLOG POLICY

As editor of this Blog I allow anonymous comments to any of the postings. However, it is always good to sign off with your name.

I will not take on a dictatorial stance and ban or sanitise content".

This does not of course mean that people can just write what they like and not sign off. We must not get a situation where I go into bat for others, and others throwing rocks whilst hiding behind a wall. On 30/01/07 I received a verbal threat of legal action against me because of something I have done on our Blog and/or Wiki. I will continue to allow open debate. Our Blog forum should be seen as an important tool. There are people who would love to see it go down. Thanks for supporting our NZPC Blog. -Tom.

17/03 Windy Hills have recently updated their membership statistics. This would have to be to most connected club in New Zealand with all their members connected to the internet. I also think (knowing all of the 15 members), that the average age would be the lowest of any club in New Zealand. A young and dynamic club. -Tom.

14/03 Bryan Wells's statement to PNZ. It is disappointing that Bryan is so ill informed and that he found it necessary to give his distorted and untrue picture of our Blog. I have created a separate page to make it easier to see just the part pertaining to our Blog. Bryan's statements need to be challenged, and I do this here -Tom.

13/03 I find it fascinating and at the same time disappointing that after pointing out on our Blog a number of untruths on March 5, in Bryan Wells's statement to PNZ, regarding our Blog, not one person has backed me up on these. I do ask myself the question, what am I doing this for?. I know, I have a tendency to moralise on social behavioural issues, but in the end it really is something we all have to decide for ourselves whether we help out or go underground. One always knows where the support is during a time when it's needed most. No support this time - that's cool. -Tom.

13/03 "Khandallah retained the Jacques Cochonnet Challenge Trophy after defeating Upper Hutt by nine games to nil. This was Khandallah's twenty-third consecutive match win and the club is only four wins away from equalling Masterton's record of twenty-seven consecutive wins."

Congratulations Khandallah. Reading the above statement one has to ask what is this competition about?. What is the focus of this competition?. I do hope Khandallah brakes the Masterton record, as this may provide the turning point. There is another way of doing things, and you can read about it HERE. The quoted text above was taken from the WPA website. -Tom.

12/03 Have set-up a Chat facility on this PAGE. It is experimental. Just trying things out. Have a play around and let me know if think it will fly. -Tom.

12/03 Our Wiki has been upgraded and you can now (if you are in edit mode) use a full featured editing toolbar. It allows you to do many things: insert plug-ins for showing slideshows, images, Chat Rooms, files, etc. If you prefer the way you've been doing things, you can simply switch back to "Classic Mode". You find this in the top-right of your browser window (you must be in edit mode) -Tom.

12/03 Last evening a new link on the PNZ website appeared: "PNZ Executive Structure". This link is not working "File Not Found". I have notified Brian, and all should be well soon. -Tom.

10/03 Pesky notification emails. Some of you have been complaining about the Wiki notification emails "Tom please don't send me all this gook". These are automated Wiki emails telling you a change has taken place on a page within our Wiki. I agree, they are a nuisance if not wanted. They are only useful for a collaborative group of people working on a project, etc. Also useful for the editor with keeping an eye on things. I have prepared some screenshots and text to help explain how to stop these emails - it's simple. Find out more on this PAGE. -Tom.

08/03 It is interesting to see that many points raised in the CEO statement have been documented on this Organisation SWOT Analysis page during 2006. This initiative was by Maurice Belz. -Tom.

07/03 In the recently released CEO statement I was puzzled by this line: "I want to tell the entire petanque world out there that the management of this organisation is not a spectator sport." Surely this does not mean that we are not to take an interest, or not able to provide feedback - either through this Blog, or direct to PNZ.

Any organisation must be careful that the running of its affairs does not become a spectator sport. Our New Zealand parliament is from time to time guilty of turning the running of parliament into a spectator sport, through irresponsible and bad behaviour. An organisation needs to earn respect from its customers / stakeholders through proper conduct and good service. -Tom.

07/03 It is rather ironic that after Bryan's inaccurate and misleading statement about our Blog on his CEO statement, "complaints outnumber the accolades by about three to one" it is now this very Blog that is the only source on the Web where people can access his statement. The PNZ website has now been down for 24 hours. -Tom.

06/03 hi Tom, just to correct it i don't know why every body is getting this wrong Tom. It's JEAN-YVES AND GEORGIO VAKAUTA. -Georgio.

Hi Georgio,

Thanks for that. Have made the correction. Cheers, Tom.

05/03 ANZAC doubles. One thing I was really impressed with was the tournament information sheet. This was posted to all teams that entered. By placing it on the Web as well, it also became accessible to others. This is great, as the problem with a team is that only one player gets the information sheet. Rotorua can now reuse this info sheet for other tournaments by simply changing a small amount of text - dates, etc. I hope other clubs will follow this example. -Tom.

04/03 A bad job is a bad job, regardless of whether is was done by a volunteer or a professional - a burned cake is a burned cake. -Tom.

28/02 It was interesting to read the paragraph below (taken from this WPA website PAGE ):

"Graham Hooper moved a vote of appreciation to the Executive who have steered the Association through some stormy waters during the year. Carried with acclamation."

The human mind is marvellous. This text could have come out of the Ministry of Truth - 1984:

"....the Ministry of Truth actually did the opposite of what its name implies, being responsible for the falsification of historical events...."

I would like to know what it is the Executive did to deserve this compliment. My own impression is that the Executive members put their heads into the stormy waters and waited until the storm they created had passed before they ventured to the surface - just in time to receive the compliment. I remain adamant on the issue of the Jacques Cochonnet Petanque Cup. This in my view was grossly mismanaged by WPA, and as a result damaging to our game in the Wellington region. It's great how we all see things differently - I love it. See item below for another view of events. -Tom.

20/02 WPA President's Report: It is interesting to read again, that issues people are concerned about, and subsequently publish on the Web, are seen as "disruptive and controversial comments". The words "disruptive" and "controversial" mean different things to different people. If for example we had not published on the Web that WPA had removed from its website the link to the MPC Blog page, absolutely nothing would have happened. As it turned out, the link was quickly reinstated - this is thanks to many concerned players voicing their abhorrence on to the Web and elsewhere.

(Concerned Petanque players in Wellington)

The President's Report goes on to say that we put sponsorship deals in danger if we receive a lot of bad press. I totally agree with this and we should therefore collectively ensure that we get mainly good press. One step towards achieving this would be for WPA Executive to answer polite requests for information from regional members. I made such a request, but this request for information has so far not been acknowledged, let alone answered. -Tom.

16/02 Update 21/02: The site is back. The HB website is still down. I believe it is to do with a changeover of webmasters and the annual payment of the domain name and hosting fees.

Being a webmaster is a lot of work and it is often difficult to get people to email information. Just to get a photo of the winners or results is something webmasters always have to ask for - it rarely arrives without asking first. On this page I wrote:

"22/09/06 It appears that a select group of people are receiving SMS progress reports from Grenoble. The two webmasters (Pete from the HB and yours truly from Masterton) who last year made a real effort with bringing you news as it came to hand, are evidently not part of this SMS group. The sad thing is, that both regions (Wairarapa and Hawkes Bay), have players in Grenoble!. Clubs have also done a lot of fund raising."
To be sidelined like that, makes one wonder whether one should carry on at all. Anyway, lets hope the HB site is back soon. -Tom.

15/02 I can't understand why the recruitment for team managers can't be done well before the announcement of the selected teams. If you look at the text (which appeared on the PNZ website on 14/02) below, you'll see it does not leave much time (14 days) to apply, go to the interview and get the job. Applicants need time to arrange their own affairs too. Unless appointments have been made, and the advertised positions are actually already filled.

".... Petanque NZ wishes to send two managers with the New Zealand team (one for the Open and the other for the Seniors) to the Trans Tasman Challenge to be held at the St Kilda Petanque Club, Melbourne from 21- 22 April 2007. Travel dates are approximately 19 – 23 April 2007. ....Applications close Wednesday 28 February 2007"

Motto: Respect people and their time. -Tom.

13/02 New Video clip. Petanque In Brooklyn NY - Bartabac 2005. Watch the trucks arrive in the early morning to put the terrains down! The entire Bastille Day tournament, from 8 am to 10 pm, recorded at about 6 frames per minute. 134 teams of 3 players, and thousands of intrigued onlookers, eating, drinking and having fun. -Tom.

12/02 Summer Interclub (Wellington) Sorry to do this, but due to Upper Hutt having to withdraw for this round of the interclub, there is now a change to the morning draw and a default game in the afternoon. See new details HERE. Margret.

11/02 Video clip taken: 08 janvier 2007. Location: piolenc, France voici la compil des plus beaux moments de pétanque de ces dernieres grandes compétition. Here's a compilation of awesome "carreaux", These players use backspin and sidespin like pool champions. Runtime 05.20 min. Some of you will recognise some of the players, including the current female world champion Angelique Papon. -Tom.

10/02 I have not been able to find a list of players who have made themselves available for selection this year (2007). Last year we had a players list for unrestricted events such as Worlds and Singapore, plus a list of players for Senior events. Probably still to come. -Tom.

03/02 The main reason why I object to PNZ holding its AGM at the same time as our Masterton WBS Triples tournament, is the complete absence of basic common courtesy by PNZ. If no other date was available, surely a simple letter to our Masterton club explaining this, would be courteous, and good PR work as well. It would show to the wider NZ membership that PNZ is aware of the national tournament calendar. That PNZ regrets its AGM falls on a date of a major long-running annual event. What we have instead is that PNZ gives the impression with its cavalier attitude, that it does not owe anyone an explanation for whatever it does or doesn't do (2006 all over again). This in turn gives the impression of a master/servant relationship. Not a good look. Not a good way of getting people to cooperate. -Tom.

02/02 I really had been hoping that 2007 would be a quiet and mostly harmonious year for our game in New Zealand (especially after a turbulent 2006). Unfortunately, barely out of the starting blocks we had a terrible incident on our plate on 31/01/07. This caused me to change the name of our popular Masterton Petanque Club Blog to the new name of NZ Petanque Club. Whether this incident was caused by an individual or by PNZ remains unclear. In the meantime I will continue with simply recording things and events as they happen, on our Wiki - the good and the not so good. Over time this should give us a clear picture of who is doing what, so there is no opportunity to rewrite history at a later date. A good example is the meticulously detailed record of the 2006 JCC incident. I hope it will bring some form of accountability and better overall behaviour. -Tom.

01/02 It is now February and my prediction from six months ago has come true. -Tom.

31/01 Our Masterton Petanque Club Blog page has been renamed to NZ Petanque Club. This is a positive development (evolution) and you can read about why this has happened HERE. -Tom.

27/01 PNZ has elected to have their AGM at the same time as our long-running major tournament the WBS Triples (in the same region Wellington and Masterton). This is not a nice thing to do to our Masterton club. What are we going to say to our sponsor WBS and our local newspaper. "We are sorry but our governing body are having their AGM and therefore holding back some of the top regional players." It is not easy to secure long-term sponsorship, and it does not help to have this undermined by PNZ. I would like an explanation from PNZ as to why they did this. A letter to our Masterton Club explaining the unfortunate timing of their AGM would have been the proper thing to do. It also means that I can not (without pulling out of the tournament and letting my two playing partners down) attend this PNZ AGM. It all reeks of a deliberate snub. This incident is not a good start to the new year.

See also last two items on THIS PAGE. -Tom.

26/01 I am puzzled by the fact that we have a number of clubs in Wellington that have extreme low membership. One (Khandallah) even had to pull out of an already running regional competition (see item below). I think we have (in Wellington) at least three clubs with a membership of between 6 to 10. Is this unique to the capital, or is this also the case in other centres? Is Petanque in Wellington dying?

It can't have been an easy decision for Khandallah to pull out of the Summer Interclub (Wellington region) competition. It is akin to pulling out of a weekend tournament on day two, or after the first couple of games. ".... Unfortunately, most of the competition dates conflict with other events ....". Was this a late discovery?. Do we have too many events for the number of players in the Wellington region? -Tom.

26/01 Summer Interclub (Wellington) Sorry to do this to you all but due to the late withdrawal of Khandallah from the complete interclub competition, and with the default for this round from Windy Hills, a second revised draw (replacing the one sent out earlier this week) is now in effect. This means that the earlier advised byes, etc no longer apply. However, a default for the afternoon session will still apply, as will the scoring relating to this default. See new details HERE. -Margret.

24/01 If you are not sure how the get to your next tournament, use a map. I have made a page with 27 links to maps you may want to look up before you leave home. At the bottom of the same page is a link to a Driving Distance Chart. PS. Individual maps are also accessible from our events calendar. -Tom.

23/01 Greetings to all fellow Petanquers. Thank you so much for your help and comments. Many grateful thanks to all those who have supported me over the last 15 months - especially my Petanque partner David Bosley. We can all learn from past mistakes. Let us go forward in this new year 2007 - play our best, and enjoy the wonderful game of Petanque. -Dawn Gardner.

22/01 "SANTA FE SHUTTERS CLASSIC TRIPLES" I hope all of you have had nice holydays. Now life if back to normal for most of us and it is time to think about petanque competition. A few weeks ago I have announced the "SANTA FE SHUTTERS CLASSIC TRIPLES 2007" as the first petanque tournament in Tauranga with $1020.00 in cash to be share between winners & runners up of the trophy and the plate. Many entries have already been received so if you would like to play in this tournament and haven't send yet your entry form & fees do it now because we can't accept more than 32 teams.

I have attached details and entry form and also accommodation info: tournamentflyer.pdf

Cheers, John

17/01 Player Wanted

" Lonely portly middle age gent with sick sense of humour and without own teeth seeks charismatic, vocal, rebellious person for fun weekend in Rotorua for Anzac doubles 4-5 march. Anything considered but must be able to see cochonet at 10 metres because I like long ones!! No "extra services" required as I get those at home and I am going away for a rest!

If you feel like taking the risk then contact Graeme Burnard from Masterton on 027 270 5666 or email - graemeb@unitedtravel.co.nz Ta GB

Note from editor: Graeme is the author of Rules Bloody Rules.

13/01 Some people say that as editor of the MPC Blog and NZ Petanque Wiki I should not make editorial comment (I should be neutral).

Any person who has ever seen a newspaper or magazine will know that editorial comment is standard practice in print media. Some editorial comment in papers such as the Wellington Dominion is sometimes fiercely critical and political - not "neutral" at all. Editorial comment under "Letters to the editor" is also common. Apart from all this, I am also a Petanque player and entitled to my view.

The fast majority of Petanque players have no problem with my editorial comment / personal views - many emails testify to this. -Tom.

12/01 As a result of the Dawn Gardner incident, I have offered a possible solution for preventing or solving such a situation in the future. Go to this PAGE to read my proposal. -Tom.

10/01 If you are looking for an article or page on our Wiki, but you are not sure where to find it - go to our Archive page and look under "Orphaned pages". If you have no luck, try our excellent search facility at the top-right of any page. Happy hunting. -Tom.

09/01 It is heart warming to know that three people in Hawke's Bay (Dave Bosley, Ted and Barb Lucas-Creagh) had the conviction to publicly support Dawn Gardner.

(Photo of Dawn Gardner is courtesy of HB website).

I can't help but wonder; if more people had been as proactive as these three, would Dawn have suffered for as long as she did?. It saddens me to see so much unnecessary personal hurt and financial waste.

This would have to rate as one of the most unfortunate things a NZ club has done to a member - shameful. The mob mentality (combined with the general apathy of bystanders) is indeed extremely dangerous and ugly - history is littered with it. Lets all make sure that this kind of thing can never happen again. -Tom.
