School Petanque (Masterton)

 

09/05/06 I propose that I and one or two others from our Masterton Petanque Club set up school Petanque sessions this spring. I envisage it would be bases on coaching and actual tournament play. We could start with just two or three schools and have a manageable number of players each week (one day per week). If you have any advise on what has worked for you, and what has not worked, put it down as a comment (just below this proposal). Thanks for your input. Tom van B. Please note you do not have to be a MPC member to make contributions to this topic. We need all the help we can get.

Comment 1 Having access to videos (see this Proposal) would be a fantastic teaching and inspirational aid, when dealing with school-aged players. Also good for old codgers like me of course. -Tom van B.


Comment 2 Update 26/07/06: We've hade a discussion about this proposal at our club. We now have the volunteers for this project!. I will put some promotional text together (ready by 15/08) for the others to approve. Once I have the OK, I will insert some images of young Petanque players, and convert this into a PDF. This promotional PDF will be emailed to schools in Masterton. -Tom.
